Can we build gardens in the winter?

Absolutely! We have to monitor the weather which can slow progress with heavy rain and freezing temperatures reducing the working hours on certain elements of the garden. This is especially true where cement based mortars are required for patios as an example, care needs to be taken to ensure construction is completed in suitable conditions and protected over night. However, in general progress can be made on the construction of your garden during the winter. It is a good time of year for planting as the plants can concentrate on their energy on their root systems in preparation for flowering. A new lawn won’t need as much maintenance as it establishes due to cooler temperature and wetter weather.
